Telecaster under $300?

Re: Telecaster under $300?

In my area the Samick Grace GRT-1 only costs less than 200 USD. It even comes with all maple fretboard and SD TB-4. What could be better?

second had is always a great option, so are some other brands. I have had the same idea as you about a players tele and it would be so awesome. I'd say definitely go for it!

Re: Telecaster under $300?

In that price range I would suggest not buying online. There will be some decent insturments to be had, but the quality from model to model will vary greatly.

I bought a fender squier deluxe strat a few years back and played about 6 or 7 of them before settling on the one i bought. on a few of them the fretwork was so bad they were unplayable. a few were average quality and the one i ended up with was probably that one in ten guitar with quality much better than the $250 price tag.

If you dont quite know what to look for when inspecting guitars, id suggest taking along someone who can help. Also, guitars in that price range and some even alot higher in price tend to have a bad factory setup, therefore making it even harder to guage playability.

Re: Telecaster under $300?

I have a wonderful LTD ST-213 strat. The fit, finish and playing is incredible. I played the equivalent tele, the LTD TE-212. Decided to think about buying but when I got back the week after it was gone. Very good guitar that might fit the $300AUD used, specially if you want to update the electronic.

Re: Telecaster under $300?

A friend bought a used asian Squire (the cheapest one -maybe called an Affinity?) for $100 bucks, added $55 Schaeller Locking Tuners, Bone nut recut, and $100 worth of Duncan pickups and it was indecipherable from his vintage American Tele on recordings at his studio.

$255 for a guitar and setup right that sounds that good is impossible to beat IMO
