I got the Wilkinson pickup and fitted it last week. Have to say I love how the guitar sounds with this in it! I wanted a more vintage tele sound, specifically something like the "Good Times, Bad Times" tone, and this is really getting me much closer than the Hot Stack, it's bang on. I've been playing the guitar a TON, it's a lot of fun and really different to all my other guitars, even the strat.
The pickguard I ordered did NOT fit, and could not really have been modified without specialist tools - it was completely the wrong size. I could get one custom made but they're about £55 so...nah.
I managed to sell the Hot Stack on ebay for £70, so considering I paid £120 for the guitar and fixed it up using spare parts I'd had in my cupboard for years, and a £20 Wilkinson pickup, I've basically got this sweet tele for £70. :1:
