Telecasters for Metal

Re: Telecasters for Metal

well, thats my guitar. and that post is for you. and it generated the expected response :approve:

uberthrashdeathspeedshredfusion ANGRY DISTORTIONZ FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not a joke!

I had an Epi 310 and I wish I'd kept it but still...you're joking right?

This thread just makes me glad that we active members of the metal community don't actually rely on Varg to approve our bands or our equipment for eligibility.

Re: Telecasters for Metal

Motley Crue weren't metal either!

From Sound of the Beast, The Complete Headbanging History of Heavy Metal, I quote:

"They told me about Motley Crue, and B!tch, and I started going out to see them. There was finally a metal scene in L.A., and it was kind of unbelievable."

- Brian Slagel, founder of Metal Blade Records

Re: Telecasters for Metal

I'll never understand why grown men get so upset when a person on the other side of the world states their opinion that a particular band isn't really metal. I don't get it. Why does this bother people so much?
I love Motorhead/ Motley Crue/ Van Halen etc etc but I don't think they're metal. Does it really matter to you how I want to pigeon hole them in my own mind, to the extent you'll insult me over it? Does my opinion that a band (your own, or just one you happen to like) isn't, to my mind, metal, really hurt you that much?
Why? It's nuts.

Yes they do, they play homo erotica metal.

If we had lyrics, they would all be all like:

Gimme yo butt
I tell ya what
here come the attack
right up ya crack

ain't got to shave it
yeah
ain't got to man-scape
I know you crave it
yeah
here come butt-rape

GRRRRAPE APE

getcha' some!

YOW!

Re: Telecasters for Metal

After having the P-Rails since '08, I decided to install a Duncan Custom and detune my John5 Tele to C standard.

I'll try to post some metal vids. I've only recorded some Smashing Pumpkins and other rock stuff so far. Still have to try this BKP Painkiller and a WCR Icebucker to see which one is best, but I've been happy with the Duncan Custom.

Cool guitar man, always dug those. I don't know anything about that dude though, didn't he used to play for Marilyn Manson?

Thank you!

Yes, he did used to play for Manson, and has been releasing intrumental albums plus being Rob Zombie's guitarist full time.

Re: Telecasters for Metal

John 5 is a pretty amazing guitarist. He can shred the country and metal, hence the telecaster preference. But what I really know him for is his girlfriend:

I feel sorry for the guy in Jerry's crawlspace who had to listen to him sing that song! :scratchch

Re: Telecasters for Metal

I can't be bothered to read all 6 pages of Jerry bashing and stroking each other's junk, but I will say this:

A Tele with a bridge humbucker is not a Tele. It's a ****in bolt on hardtail with a humbucker. If it doesn't have that big plate bridge with a big, fatass slanted single and another single in the neck, it's not a goddamned Tele. I don't care if it clearly says 'Telecaster' on the hs.

Tele Deluxe w/ Wide Range buckers? Not a goddamned Tele.

Tele Thinline w/ Wide Range buckers? Not a goddamned Tele.

John 5 Tele w/ hums and a big paddle 3x3 hs? Not a goddamned Tele.

See where this is going? You can't point to something that's been 'modded' or 'improved' and use it to prove a point.

Just because that Nascar stock car is a 'Taurus' doesn't mean Tauruses go 215 mph.
