Hey all, I'm putting together a Telegib-style guitar using a cheap Squier Tele as a base.
Here is the proposed design: http://i.imgur.com/Gkl0gGY.jpg
I purchased a new pickguard with a humbucker cavity, and I got the humbucker mounting rings in the mail today.
However, even though they are definitely short enough to fit under the strings, they are slightly slanted.
On the neck position pickup, since my pickguard is thick, it looks like the strings (when I put them on) might touch the higher end of the mounting ring, especially when fretting notes high on the fretboard, which is obviously a problem. Mind you, though, I'm using the eye test and have not wired everything up yet.
Does anyone know where to get short, COMPLETELY FLAT humbucker mounting rings? Like this: http://i.imgur.com/b3zCZLI.jpg
I have that black one, but I need two white ones.
Thanks in advance.
