Tell me about BYOC's kits.

Hey everyone.

I was wondering a couple of things about BYOC's pedal kits.

First off, how durable/roadworthyare they when assembled properly?

Also, which kit would you recommend for a first time pedal builder (I've been jonesing for a high gain OD box lately).

I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron and I am a low voltage electrician by trade, so I'm not a total noob at putting stuff together.

Thanks a bunch, y'all!

I just got done with the triboost. I am a total newb when it comes to electronics and I found it very easy to put one together.

If you build them properly, they're more durable than 95% of the pedals out there. Everything is case-mounted, the PCB is sturdy, the components are top quality, and the enclosures are strong.

First time buyers can add a "Confidence Boost" (very simple boost/buffer with no enclosure or switch) to their order for free. It's not very useful as a guitar effect, but it is great practice before you do your first build.

You'd probably enjoy the 250+, which is a clone of either the DOD 250 Overdrive or the MXR Distortion+ depending on which components you put in it. It comes with components to build it to either spec. It's also a really, really simple circuit.

I'm in the middle of building an Optical Compressor and an Octave Fuzz myself.

Re: Tell me about BYOC's kits.

Mine came pre-built.

I've put those things through hell, never a problem.

I have the TS-808 clone, and the digital delay (both are friggin' incredible). I also have the MKII Fuzz, which is okay, I guess. I don't find it very useful. I don't reccomend that one.
