Fantastic amps, my guitar teacher had one and I was amazed at the sound of 6w amp (it was the first tube amp I ever heard!). I want a Harlequin but gotta save the pennies - even in the UK you don't see they S/H all that often

Re: tell me about cornford amps

Just gigged my Hellcat tonight through my Cornford (pine) 4 x 12... awesome! I could have took my MK50, but not a big venue... so 35watts was more than enough. AND... if it's good enough for Guthrie Govan then it's good enough for me! Though I will point out that I had before my Hellcat before I'd even heard of him... just for the tone. It's a bit more complex than the MK50 which a real monster.. bid and ballsy old school rocker. The Hellcat has much more finess... very classy sound, like a good sounding AC30 on steroids! If I were you I'd give it a try if you getting a good deal. The only thing I will point point out is this, as with all EL84 amps, you'll have to make sure they are changed once every 12/ 24 months to keep it fresh and lively. As it's class A, it does run hot (just like AC30's) and therefore valves won't last several years. I recently changed mine and man, what a difference... brought it back to life. I thought maybe I was imagining it so I put the old valves back in and it sounded dull and flat by comparison. The ONLY amp I would consider selling either of my Cornfords for is a Bognor XTC, but I'm worried that if I did have one if I ran into problems it would be just too costly. There you go... my twopenneth!

When I saw the Australian Pink Floyd Show, one of their guitarists was playing through a Cornford amp. That guy's tone was amazing.
