Tell me about pickup covers

About to pick up a Black Winter neck to pair with a Distortion. Thinking about adding pickup covers to them.

What should I look for in covers? What material should I look for or avoid..

Also guitar has black nickel hardware, aesthtically would plain black ok or should I go black chrome or nickel if I can find them?

I just had some Seth Lovers made with black baseplates and powder coated black covers. These look amazing.

Order from Seymour. I ordered covers ( non seymour from amazon ) for a black winter set and they just almost fit. I had to take a rat tail to them.
They said they would fit perfect. So close.

If you need all black, then I would just look for plastic, so they don't change the sound at all.

The material used to make the cover can alter the sound. As mentioned, plastic will be the most transparent

These were Custom Shop, as I needed a set with one one rwrp. I would think the cover itself would be Shop Floor.
