I have an Ash American Standard Telecaster. It's really not bad out of the box being one of the few I have kept stock. I am really tempted by what I have read about the BG1400. Does it do both clean and overdrive well? How does it compare to a Pearly Gates for Tele or Lil 59 for Tele? I'd like to hear your thoughts. I don't want to just change a pickups blindly.

It doesn't really sound much like those other pickups IMHO...
It will get some nice clean tones but it's a HOT pickup...
The tone is part Tele, part PAF and part Filtertron...thats the best way to dsescribe it...
