Tell me about the DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary Bridge.

I've searched and read a couple of threads about this pickup, but I'd still like to hear some of you guys' opinions about it. Are there any advocates here in this forum? :)

First, I love the neck version in my Ibanez RGA. I also like the '59 trembucker I have in there right now in the bridge, but seeing how much I like the neck PAF over the '59 neck, I wonder how the bridge versions would compare. Has it got more or less bass than the '59? treble and mids? How about the output? Does it still feel like an A5 PAF even with the airbucker and virtual vintage technologies? How does it balance with the neck version? How does it do under high gain?

Thanks. :)

The 36th has more mids than the 59, I think the power feels similar, the 59 has more low end push than the 36th, I think dead clean the 36th has a little more chime and character to it, but that's just my take, I like them both and they are both good versatile choices for a lot of music styles. I thought the 36th neck and bridge were a good match in terms of tone and output. This is in regards to the bridge pickups I should have said earlier. They both take gain really well. The 59 might be a little more "rough" sounding overall, but I like that about it.

Excellent! Thanks for the description. :)

I wonder, does anyone know if the PAF 36th Anni has uneven coils? Or is it symmetrical?

Bumpity! I'm really considering this. I wonder if anyone else has any input. :)
