Tell Me About the Squier Classic Vibe 50's Strat

Re: Tell Me About the Squier Classic Vibe 50's Strat

i spent most of the afternoon rocking a CV strat and Tele, through one of those Fender Greta's in my local shop. Will be picking all 3 up soon. such a great sound.

Lots of people say they are at the same level.

not really, BUT.. Squier's special run lines really are nice guitars.. I LOVE my vintage modified tele. I played it back to back with a bunch if fenders and there was only one Fender I liked better and it was about 4 times the price.

My Japanese strat is was VERy impressive aside from a 1 ply pickguard and feeble pickups. (till I changed them)

I'd argue out of the box that the CV Strats and Tele's play better than a MIM Standard stock does. I was switching between them all yesterday. And the Strat was a little nicer. But the Thinline CV Tele blew a MIM Tele out of the water. Even gave a Reissue Thinline a run for its money.

For the price you get ALOT of guitar.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all your input. I really appreciate it. I have decided to pass on the CV 50s Strat. Thanking about another model right now...

They are great guitars. I've played a few in shops, and I'm not sure how they would be in a live setting, but just to jam on, they felt really well made. The electronics weren't great, but they weren't bad, just good (probably like a C for effort), and a pickup change could definitely benefit them, but once again, not horrible.

If I was buying one, then I'd be getting the white one with the anodized pickguard. That looks sweet with the maple and gold.

The Vintage Modified Jbass is really nice, too. It's got a nice warm sound.
