Tell me about this danelectro

I came across this today in my local music shop and really liked it. It's a danelectro hodad. It's got lipstick humbuckers and a trem with a roller bridge. The electronics were two volume two tone with push pulls for out of phase and master coil tap so every position is hum cancelling. It was priced at $500 with a gigbag. I really liked the way it sounded and played. I don't have anything quirky like that in my collection either. Do you guys think that $500 is a good price?

Does anyone know approximately what year(s) these were made? I can tell it's not been manufactured in the last 10 years but I'm guessing it looks like it could be from the 90's? What do you guys think?

Probably worth it, but I'd see if I could wear them down on price, or get them to throw in a gigbag and a set of strings.

The local guitar shop where I live has had one for about a year now. If it's any statement of how much I like it, it's my go-to for testing pedal, but I've never bought it and no one else has either.

I ended up putting some money down on it and I'll pick it up next week. Funny I really wasn't looking for a guitar, I was actually picking one up and I saw this. I like it I don't have anything else like it in my collection.

How are the pickups mounted? Are they 4 separate lipstick tubes or are two mounted on a baseplate?

I'm not sure if there is s baseplate it didn't look like it because the body was cut the shape of the lipstick tubes o don't know how a baseplate would get in there. They are mounted from the back with screws that go through the body.
