can you tell me the best guitar strings BRAND?
i mean.. the ones that offers the wider variety of models and etc
cause i´m looking to get a custom set for me..
something like a 0.12 and a half.
not a hybrid 0.12
thicker than 0.12 but not necessary a 0.13.

You're going to get a lot of mixed opinions JP. I've always preferred DR Pure Blues strings to all other brands I've ever tried, even the other DR types like Tite-fits and all that stuff.

You ever gone to www.juststrings.com? If you go there, you can order single strings of most manufacturers and gauges, so you can custom order your own gauge set.

I like Gibson strings, personally.

D'Addario probably has the biggest variety, if that's what you're looking for.

Honestly, its YOUR own personal opinion, choice, and preference the one that counts. Youll get many different responses from people simply because nobody has the same taste. So you'll probably gonna have to try many different brands before you settle for one in particular. Personally, ive always like Ernie Ball and Dean Markley, but its all up to YOUR tone preference

IMO it depends on what kind of guitar they are for, and how do you use the guitar(mainly rhythm, mainly lead, both rhythm and lead)

I use Ernie Ball slinky 10's at home because I think they sound better (brighter). But I use D'addrio (however you spell it) on my guitars at school because I think they resist corrosion longer when all the kids are playing on them.

Everybody is going to have their own preference, I've always liked D'Addario... they just work for me. Feel right, sound right, hold up pretty well, best standard production strings I've used. I'm switching to Snake Oil Brand now, but D'Addario worked well.

There is no such thing as a "best". However, I prefer either slinkys or boomers. There are some new technologies out there like the Dave Mustain sig pack of strings, I'll be trying them soon.

i prefer my ernie ball .011's on my strat, and d'adarrio exl 115 11's on my barclay so it really depends on the guitar. trial and error really. strings aren't expensive. when you break one or one wears out, go out and try a new pack. test new until you find something you like. and stick with it. every once in a while try a new brand and see what you think, change is good.

If you are looking for a custom guage string, with incredible life (3-5 x's the life of your ordinary strings)....go here. Dean will build you almost any set you can imagine, and you can get either original nickel (warmer tone), or the rock set (brighter tone). I prefer the original nickel.

I've had a set on my Dean Hardtail since UGD (May 05'), and they are still as good as new. Going on 6 months on my Les Paul.

Yeah, i knwo about that.
the Ibanez will be a half lead, half rhythm stuff.
so, i need a tight botom , with a smooth gauge on the lw strings
think, standard daddario 0.12 on the first 3 strings(no wraped G string, PLain) and a custom gauge at the last 3 strings
well, the problem is the ****gin LOW E.
i tune the ibanez to B standard, and the 0.13 string gauge is too thick for me, i mean, on this ibanez S1220 WNF PRESTIGE.
maybe because of the short scale and the 22 frets!?

I played Several brands like - dean markley the one with a yellow house in the package. all dadarios from 0.08 to 0.13., ernie balls, Ghs boomers , giannini, SIT, fender, fender plain 0.12 ,
i bought a set of dean markley blue steel but i didn´t have a chance to play it. so, it doesn´t count
I noticed that the daddario used to sound OK, and the string life was better than the others.. but, TODAY, at least here in brazil, it´s just OK overal.
the fender and dean markley i didnt notice anythign great
the Ernie ball Slinky are the one i liked. it has a pretty good tone and teh string life is OK.
Ithe GHS boomers.. i noticed MORE output, but i had problems to get pinch harmonics out of it. and the tone wasn´t better than teh daddario.

i never played that ELIXIR, DR, or any other you mentioned here
i´m searchign for a warm tone and more volume.
i dont care T HAT much for the string life . i also don´t want all those BRIGHTNESS. ahahahah
BUT my main concern is the string gauge.
I felt unconfortable with the low E string from the daddario 0.13 SET.
it´s too thick. i have difficult to make the pinch harmonics.
BUT, and interesting fact.. i didn´t have any confort problems or pinch harmonics problems with my schecter avenger
the ibanez is a 24'75 OR a 25'5 scale. not sure about that. and it has 22 frets
schecter has 24 frets, and i´m not sure about the scale length too.
i tuned the ibanez do B standard, and the Schecter to C standard.
i put the last 4 strings from the daddario 0.13 strings, and the frist two strings from a daddario 0.12 .
it´s ****gin FINE.

i feel confortable with the first 3 strings from a 0.12 set, but not confortable with a hybrid of 012/013.
so, is there any intermediate set , like a ALMOST 0.13 set. i mean, the Last 2 strings from a 0.13 set not as thick a a 0.13 !?!?!
