Texas Flood - slide version

Hi all, it's been a while. I've been plugging away on my various sites, selling my PlaneTalk package to the world at large, gigging, hanging out with my 7 year old daughter Georgia and carrying on as usual.

I did this the other day, just for the fun of it. It's in dropped D tuning -- my favorite for slide -- and I'm tuned down a half step, so I guess I'm in dropped Db tuning. The pickups are, of course, SDs and the Strat was set up by Seymour himself way back in 1973 when I bought it. I was living in London, bought it at Fender Soundhouse second hand. Seymour was the guitar tech there and we wound up forming a band together. The last time we saw each other was 10 years ago in Vancouver.

Hi, Seymour!

I hope you enjoy my rather rough and ready version of this SRV classic. For once I used the back pickup.

Very cool. I like it. I've been using a drop high D on my guitar and open E on my reso and lap steel. We need more clips.

nice one kirk!
What part of Aus are you based? Ill have to come to a gig.
I live up in Queensland now at Tamborine Mountain but I do get down to Sydney for gigs. I'll be there in August 7th with my band 'Chasin The Train' at the Bridge Hotel, Rozelle. I's always a great night, be sure to come and say hi if you make it.
