Texas Hot Strat antiquity single coils

Anyone able to compare these to a bareknucle apache set...or anything else for that matter?
How is the tmb curve etc.?

I've used the Texas Hot Antiquities in a couple strats of mine since I got them in 1994. I've also mixed them with '68 Fender reissues, MIM Fender singles, and original 1960's singles. They have a rolled off top end but still twangy/bright compared to '68 reissues. Not as scooped as typical lower output Fender singles. They sound dead on match for the original 1966 pickups in my '66 strat, despite being a different spec/recipe. That's the whole reason I became a Duncan fan. Duncans always make 'that' sound.

Cool, thanks beau.

Sounds like it might be a cool sound.
I really like strat single coils but don't always appreciate the high end...i.e. I do like a bit less high end or an extra touch of mids to avoid the ice-pick.

You might also check out the Alnico II singles or the Five Twos. Both have more mids than traditional singles.

Also does anyone have pictures of the back of a Texas Hot Strat pickup for comparison and have there been changes to the construction/appearance over the years?

Mine from 1994. Don't know if Seymour personally signs them any more. Mine were pretty early and actually wound by Seymour.

That's great, thanks again beau.

I did do a few searches as I was sure there must be lots of pics on here some place, but wasn't able to come up with anything.
