I would have asked at fender but he never respond to emails so here it is. I was wondering what the 8/64 bass and 6/64 treble means on the fender site for pickup height. I know you don't set all three the same height so which pickup are they giving measurements for and what do I set the other 2 at?

That's the starting point from the first p'up. I set the height of the other two by ear, being specially careful in not to get "stratitis".

HTH,

I set them all there, then adjust.

As far as the Texas Specials, since they are a little hot, you may find you like the tone with them a little lower.

Capo the strings at the 12th fret and measure from the bottom of the strings to the top of the E polepieces. The 8/64 or 4/32 on the bass side and 6/64 or 3/32 on the treble side. The measurements are 32nds or 64ths of an inch. You can buy a micro ruler at any auto parts store. From there you can adjust by ear while your playing. With humbuckers you can cut the measurement nearly in half since the magnetic pull on the strings is less. As mentioned earlier if the single coils are too close to the strings you start to get a warble on the lower three strings past the 12th fret so you need to slightly widen the gap.
