Texas Special Replacement

I've currently got a Fender Texas Special in the neck position of my Godin LGT (H-S-S, mahogany body, rosewood fretboard, floating bridge) and I'm looking to replace it. It gets decent SRV tones, but can get muddy sometimes and lacks the high-end shimmer associated w/ strats.

On the sound page, the SSL-1 sounds the best to my ears and I was thinking about purchasing it. Some people have mentioned the Antiquity Surfers and I was wondering how these compare tonally to the SSL-1's. Are they worth the extra money? I mostly use the neck pickup to cover clean tones (I love U2's sound), blues, and funk.

Re: Texas Special Replacement

SSL1 or the McDaddy pickup.....The Antiquity Surfer is my current #1 favorite in the neck and middle positions...The Surfers have a more complex tone and more air around your notes...It's kind of like the difference between eating ice cream that you really like and ice cream that you really love!

The Antiquity pickups have an unexplained "MOJO"......On a budget, the SSL1s are great also...I use all of these, including the APS pickups..
