About 4 years ago I bought one of their limited run bee themed capos, and about 2 years ago I broke it. I emailed their customer service with some documenting photographs but because this was the height of covid it fell through the cracks.

Flash forward to last week and I suddenly remembered it and emailed them again. Apparently they keep a collection of b-stock limited run capos for this very situation and they sent me one for only the cost of shipping.

I got one around the same time. The company is run by a Dad and his daughter, they do a good job with customer service.

I read this as:
  • Capo only lasted two years
  • First customer service inquiry is ignored
  • Second inquiry requires me to pay shipping for a b-stock replacement
I might just be a negative person?

I read this as:
  • Capo only lasted two years - All manufacturing has a failure rate, a certain percentage of all products will fail
  • First customer service inquiry is ignored - It is a small business, and a lot of inquiries fall through the cracks at times. Especially during Covid.
  • Second inquiry requires me to pay shipping for a b-stock replacement - They replaced an $80 product that was out of warranty for he price of shipping
I might just be a negative person?

I think they did a pretty good job.

For 80$ they better have good customer support! I've been using a 25$ shubb capo every day for two years, and it has functioned flawlessly every time - easy on/easy off. Zero signs of wear or problems, and given the simple mechanism I don't expect any for decades.

In their defense, I broke the capo being a goofball, I was just a big a reason for falling out of contact as they were, and the capo in question has been out of manufacture for 2 years.
