so i replaced all the tubes in my bassman on wednesday. i also swapped the ss rectifier for a GZ34S. yowza! its like going from skim milk to whole milk. (dont get me wrong the bassman sounded great with stock sovteks.) its just soooo much better now. and quieter.... noisewise.

i also ordered three electro harmonix 12AX7 Gold. i will try them out eventually.

so its like this....

That's good news, mate!

My Engl Screamer combo is hissing in the clean channel. When I turn the master volume up the hiss becomes louder. I checked the pre-tubes but I think the power tubes are noisy..hopefully a swap will help!

The tubes for my Engl Sovereing are on their way from Eurotubes and i hope i'll have a similar experience as you(the tubes in it are old and worn out).
