Hi everyone,

I'm new member to the SD forum. I got a lot of information from here before deciding I'd put Blackouts on one of my guitars (yes, my first set of SD's ever). I couldn't have been more pleased, the tone on my axe rocks and it's better than my EMG loaded axes to some extent.

I decided to record Megadeth's Tornado of Souls middle section (w/solo) with these pups, just to see how they'd fit into my rig and mixes. I'm very happy with the results and wanted to share:

Please enjoy and :thanks: again !!

awwwesome dude!

You totally nailed those quirky half-step bends that Friedman is so famous for. Fantastic playing, and the tone is pretty spot on as well.

and, Welcome aboard!

Re: Thanks to this forum - My Tornado of Souls instrumental section with Blackouts

Hell yes my friend! Ya nailed it! And yeah just like CTN said, Friedman's style isn't the easiest thing to replicate. Really nice job.

Welcome to the forum. :D

Thanks a lot for your encouraging words

This is awesome. I love the RIP album, and this is one of my favorites from that album. You NAILED it.

Thanks again for the encouragement guys, really appreciate it.

DankStar, the axe is a B.C. Rich Jr. V 7. I only upgraded the pickups, everything else came out of the box

Ah I thought that neck looked wide! Just googled that model... Hot damn.

That purple quilted one may be mine soon...

Re: Thanks to this forum - My Tornado of Souls instrumental section with Blackouts

Did you get the B.C. Rich from Guitar Center? I saw the exact purple 7-string for $599 in last month's catalogue. Nice playing too. I cannot wait for my axe to get a fret dressing so I can start playing like that again.

Bumpeee! Your cover is awesome. It should be on top.

Re: Thanks to this forum - My Tornado of Souls instrumental section with Blackouts

Thanks for posting the clip, very well played! A friend of mine and I have been working on the rhythm parts of Tornado for a few weeks on & off now. I think this clip will definitely help us!

Re: Thanks to this forum - My Tornado of Souls instrumental section with Blackouts

Great work! You're very well practiced.

Before you told, I thought the B.C. Rich was one of those deluxe NTs they brought out with an original floyd rose and EMGs... after I bought the first gen NT and went to the trouble of upgrading the bridge and pickups....

Bastards!

No, I actually ordered directly from musiciansfriend.com. I had a 10% discount coupon which made the deal impossible to resist, fortunately, I was not disappointed.

Cheers

Great, let us know how it turns out. The song "seems" simple at first but it can be a *****.

Re: Thanks to this forum - My Tornado of Souls instrumental section with Blackouts

Oh, so you think you can rock the Tornado of Souls? Got the Blackouts and everything and think you are sounding better than with EMG's all of the sudden? Well, let me tell you what I think of that little clip...

:headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

You sir, shred.

Re: Thanks to this forum - My Tornado of Souls instrumental section with Blackouts

Hell yeah. I second the headbangin' multiples.

You rock sir. Stick around. We need more shredders around this moth ball smellin' joint.
