I recently had the pleasure of playing the Frankenstein guitar (replica of Eddies old guitar). This guitar had to be the absolute best playing and sounding guitar I`ve ever heard in my 30 yrs of playing. I read in an article that the custom shop had that pickup available so of course I purchased it For a lot more than I should have! I am very dissapointed with the tone! I know the wood makes a difference but the tone of this pick up isn`t even close to the Frankenstein guitar and I played it through a crappy little amp and it still blew me away! Does anyone know if SD changed the way the PU was made? I have 11 guitars and almost every one of them has seymour Duncan pickups in them. I guess I`m looking for some explanation from anyone that may have any information about this Pick up. I was originally going to buy it from ebay for 100.00 less but I didn`t want to take the chance. I feel very let down after sticking with this company for 30 years. I was really looking forward to that great tone that Eddie HAD 30 yrs ago or something even close to it.
