The origin of this pickup can be traced back to a precise moment when I went into Seymour's office and asked: "Hey, you've messed around with Alnico 8, tell me, what would you do if you were designing a pickup specifically for Alnico 8? He sat back for a second and then rapidly fired off all the things he would do, one by one. Those things; that design that he had in his head; are exactly what you are buying with an Alternative 8. I kid you not, the original prototype is exactly what we make in production.
It's an absolute wonder. You can talk to Seymour about a sound or a concept and he can actually see the design in his head immediately-and he gets it right every time. It's truly amazing.
