The amp has come!

Remember the Vox thread i started about 2 weeks ago? If not, i looked for a new practice amp and i found THE amp for me, Vox Pathfinder. They only had the Pathfinder 10 in the store so i ordered the big brother The Pathfinder 15R, the R stands for reverb :13:

Anyway i got the amp yesterday and when i got home with it and plugged it in i just wanted to cry, so beautiful sounding! It made my SG sound like nothing i have never heard before. Very warm strat like tones. It took me about 15 seconds to dial in the tone that i wanted.

The downsides about the amp is that you have no mid control but you have Treble and bass. The gain boost function is not recommended for "bedroom practice", it's not neighbour friendly. :laugh2:

And how is the built in Tremolo effect then? Well i have never been a fan of the Tremolo effect but now i love it. So sweet and so perfect sounding!

I just can't belive i once thought that the Micro cube was good sounding?! It sucks IMO, were sterile if you compare these two amps.

I'm not much of a reviewer so.....i don't know :laugh2:

Very cool....CONGRATS!!!!

If or when you have the money, grab an EQ pedal to take care of those mids.
I've got the BOSS EQ-20, but you need anything that fancy.

Like Hoss said it´s very good to find your tone. It´s at least as important as having a good technique. Rock on!

Very cool.....I've owned a 15r and its a very nice sounding amp. Kind of ironic that one of Vox's least expensive amps is also the one of their best sounding.

Also you should pickup the optional 2 button footswitch. About 25.00 and gives you a little more versatility.

Thanks! I love the styling on Vox amps. I always thought they were the coolest looking amps of them all. I'd like to have an AC-15 someday. I had an AC-30 but it was so loud I couldn't play it at home and so heavy I didn't feel like lugging it to the gig! :smack: Best overdrive tones I've ever heard tho when I plugged my TS-9 or DS-1 into it. Lew

They don't just sound good, they look cool to and that's always a plus! And if your idols/influences uses it to, that's also a plus
