Comments like this make me wonder how many guitar slingers really know anything about amps and circuitry.

Modding a silverface, just makes it a silverfaced modeled into a blackface, not a true AB165 blackface.

How many modeled conversations have the copper plate behind the volume and tone knobs? My bet is none!

How many modeled conversations have separate 5V wiring out of the transformer? Again, my bet is none!

My silverfaced Pro Reverb had a sticker that had a blackface circuit number printed on it (AA165 if I remember correctly) and when I opened it up, it was silverfaced messed up stuff. Not sure about bassmans and their lineage, but during the late 60's they were all over the place.

I can't imagine 71's going out with blackface cosmetics.
