i almost always get the proper fitting switchcraft model and never have any worries

I've used a LOT of different brands of 3-way toggle switches. Switchcraft is certainly good, but most of the cheaper brands are just as good. Yes, some of them are not but I've even had a bummer Switchcraft switch too..

The longer Les Paul type Switchcraft switches last longer IME. The short SG types, while usually ok for a while, can get bent if you leave the switch in the bridge or neck position for a long time. Then they lose contact. Then you have to bend it back, and that shortens the life of the switch. The longer switches don't get bent where they lose contact.

Switchcraft for the win. Long, if it fits. Short if it doesn't. And remember, when you set your axe down for awhile, put the switch in its middle position, so it isn't resting in a "spring stressed" mode.

When I walk through any guitar store, I always snap those switches back into the middle position. I should get paid commission for this. :knockedou

Your OCD is showing! But it totally makes sense...

It is.

BTW, I spoke before I "googled" Electroswitch. That's a USA made switch, and should be perfectly good to use. Especially in tight quarters. My Peavey Predator and Patriots use the NKK brand of those. They're good switches.
