the best duncan ever made

I've try so many different kind of pickups, different brand either. But on this one, I realy fall in love without hesitation. The invader, the best duncan ever made. No ddoubt 'bout it! Sounds so heavy, but not loosing any tone while I put a mount of distorion with alternate dropped tuning in C. If I buy a new SG again, I'll never doubt to set this one on brigde. Guys you should try this, with BOGNER extacy amp...wow...son of gun!!!! :saeek:

Re: the best duncan ever made

I've only tried the Invader once, in a USA Jackson Warrior for a few minutes. It was nice, but I can't say it would make me stray from my trusty Duncan Distortions - truely the best Duncan ever made.

Re: the best duncan ever made

I swear by the JB and believe the Custom could easilly fit my musical style. As much versatilly I could ever wish for and a bag of chips :cool3:

Re: the best duncan ever made

I also love the invader, but would love an axe with a JB in aswell, two totally different sounding pups, but both awesome in thier own way.

Re: the best duncan ever made

JBs & Invaders are my favorite Duncans, but I'm looking into a Custom, as Customs seem to have quite the dedicated following.

Re: the best duncan ever made

Twangbanger .........its great for british rock tones, as well as surf, rockabilly, and country

Re: the best duncan ever made

Really depends on the guitar.

I've tried the Custom Custom in three guitars and in my Monoco it's the best humbucker Duncan has ever made...in my Hamer Studio it didn't sound great at all!

Personally, I think the 59B or 59TB is my favorite Duncan bridge humbucker ever made because it sounds great to me in every guitar I've tried it in.

There is no best - that's like saying "what's the best car?" Well, do you want speed, gas mileage, or cargo room?

My faves so far are the JB and a custom wound SK Dualtone, But for different things. And I also dig the DiMarzio Steve's Special and Tone Zone, and the Duncan Stag Mag.

If I were a PAF lover, I doubt I'd prefer ANY of those mentioned above.

Re: the best duncan ever made

Favorite is a better term to use than best.

if i ever get another start, i need to try out this pup....

as for me, ive only got and have only tried 2 duncans, the jb and the 59. love em both equally for what i use em for.

Re: the best duncan ever made

I personally like more than a few for different reasons. Distortion for ballsy rock stuff. 59 for jazz stuff. Jazz neck for clear articulate shred stuff.

Re: the best duncan ever made

the best duncan ever made.......hmmmmm.......a JB with more low mids and a liiiiiiiittle bit more bass

Re: the best duncan ever made

I have owned most of the SD humbuckers at one time or another. I have also had several custom shop pickups. So far, if I only could keep one, It'd be the Seth Lover Bridge. It does great clean and dirt. It sounds good in my tele and my Les Paul. Scott Miller from SD told me that he really likes it in a strat also.

Regarding neck pickups, I keep going back to the 59. I like it in teles and Les Pauls. It's sweet and it screams.

Re: the best duncan ever made

Pearly Gates do it for me, followed closely by the Phat Cats and Seth's. :burnout:

Re: the best duncan ever made

i pretty much swear by the jb. i've tried it in a alder strat, a mahogany gibson, and a schecter and it manages to have a kick ass sound in all those guitars, now thats one hell of a pickup
