Cat In The Hatministrator
...just sold for $3,300,000!
That’s the highest ever, right?
It’s so funny... a 1969 Body that’s been chopped and hacked for a multitude of crazy options (Kahler, Humbucker, XLR, etc.), who knows what number neck it’s on, it’s got the iconic pickup configuration, but even that’s different on every album. Still, it’s an iconic enough guitar for enough of us that it went for that amount. Wild! Even the red Pulse guitar went for over $600K!
Why does the Christie’s app show $3.975M? Is that with fees?
I'm guessing so. It was $3.3M in the room.
Every strat is a partscaster.
Every strat is a partscaster.
There is nothing magical about the neck and body that a factory worker bolted together.
Its only the mindless prejudice of the musician that somehow thinks that the factory pairing of a guitar specifically designed around specific spare parts replacement is more meaningful.
I wouldn't describe protecting resale value as "prejudice".
Then I would refit this historic black Strat with new trem system to complete the overall look.
