The CARR Lincoln Amplifier Demo. Plexi And Voxy

The CARR Lincoln Amplifier Official Demo by Rodney Gene Junior.
The official release will be announced at Winter NAMM in Anaheim.

Hey friends, just stopping by to post this demo video and wish a Happy Holidays to you all!
I became a Carr Artist last Summer and was excited to be asked to demo this new amp this month.
It is a REALLY Fun EL84 amp and Carr makes every bit of it with unparalleled quality.
We spent several days and had alot of fun getting totally satisfying tones! (A couple of classic rock covers in there for fun)

My current 'wheelhouse' of tones is low-gain blues, but I did stretch out the tonal palette to keep integrity in the demo intent.
A true rocker could offer another level of tones but that just isn't in my musical skill set right now.

A great Plexi-ish / Voxyish amp. A plethora of real-life range and tones!

Chain: Guitar-Cable-Amp. All Reverb is CARR Amp verb.

Hope you enjoy and hope to hang a bit here next year.

Cheers,

RG

That might just be the best demo that I've ever seen for any product. No speaking needed really. You ran that amp through a gamut of tones and musical styles, and every single one of them delivered amazingly. That amp sounded killer. I think my favorite sound you got out of it was the song with the Gretsch and Strat together at 1:45. As usual, fantastic playing as well.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that is about a $3000 amp, but I'd say for a professional gigging musician, it is worth every cent.

My God! RG, what amazing playing bro!! I loved the Gretsch/strat part too and the next part. Amazing amp as well! Fantastic demo

Good stuff. I can't think of any other amp company that suits your vibe as well as Carr Amps.

Brother Jolly, that is wicked nice thing to say! Totally appreciate the listen and thoughtful comment!
Truth is, it was nearly zero effort to sound good with this amp. Lead channel only a (1) tone control!

That's the right limb! And agreed...Carr is pretty divided between professional musicians and hobbyists with less financial limits. They do not really cover/ cater the middle ground much! But man...I get dudes threatening to steal my Impala regularly at shows...

Happy holidays J!

Man, that was a heck of a demo! Super impressive. I was a bit surprised by the lack of country shred/barn burnin'!! :)

Re: The CARR Lincoln Amplifier Demo. Plexi And Voxy

Wow!

I'm not really much of a vintage-conscious guy but goddamn, those are some SWEET tones!! I'd have one of those in my studio for sure whenever I got the itch to get some cool old-school British tones. Rodney's playing doesn't hurt either. :D

Love it!

i keep hoping to find a slant 6v used some place... still waiting ;) the first carr i played was an old mercury and it sounded just wonderful

Thanks for the love gents! Been away for a bit long..but I got on Facebook last year. Serious time hound.

Cheers brother Ben! Appreciate the listen! Thanks! The amp could certainly do modern country tones but that really isn't it's intent. Truth is I had ides written out before Steve sent the amp but as soon I got and plugged in I was like 'Oh, that's what you are all about'! The voice of the amp really inspires classic rock-ish, 60's-70's-80's tones.

Wow!

Thanks for the listen and nice words bro! Appreciate it! Yes, classic tones are pretty much what the amp does. The 6 watt setting makes it cool for the studio!

The slant 6v! The one that started it all. I have a Rambler (Made for me personally and has RG in the serial number) and my Impala which is my #1. Basically a Deluxe and Bassman vibe. Just dang sweet tones.

Thank you! Appreciate the listen!

Cheers, RG

Re: The CARR Lincoln Amplifier Demo. Plexi And Voxy

Rodney, I appreciate your modesty, but no matter how good an amp sounds, wont make me sound that good..

Re: The CARR Lincoln Amplifier Demo. Plexi And Voxy

I concur with Jolly, best demo I've ever seen. Every company should hire Rodney to do their demos.

Re: The CARR Lincoln Amplifier Demo. Plexi And Voxy

Wow...nice demo.....very Greg V worthy. :)
I had a guy stop by 3-4 years ago with a Mike Holland 4x10..... and a Carr 2x 6L6 (I forget which model).
We tried a few different 6l6 in his Carr and an old set of JAN blew a screen on one of the power tubes for some reason.
Point To Point amps look great, but can be Time Consuming to work on. I replaced the resistor and sleeved a long piece of lead that had some of the insulation burned up (B+ feed to the screen).
The amp was still under warranty, but the owner did not want to have to ship it all the way back to Carr, so he had me do the "repair" right then. Just to cover this guy, we took pictures and emailed them to Steve...showing what was done and what had happened.
Steve offered to PAY ME for "warranty" the repair.
I passed on that, but the offer has always impressed me.
Steve knows his way around a guitar amp chassis...excellent amps.....and Yes, they are boutique "expensive". Building hand-wired amps, one at a time, is a slow going process. Throw in a real shop and real employees, and Two Thousand Dollars gets burned up in a hurry.
Anyway.....great playing on that video.....very impressive indeed. :)

Re: The CARR Lincoln Amplifier Demo. Plexi And Voxy

point to point amps harder to work on than what? i think its much easier than a pc board, not to derail the thread from rodneys awesome demo

Re: The CARR Lincoln Amplifier Demo. Plexi And Voxy

P-P can be quite a bit harder to work on than a hand-wired turret (Marshall) or eyelet (Fender) amp.
Have you ever built a P-P chassis.?
