Too many pickups, not enough Les Pauls.
Hmm... How do the Antiquity and Seths compare?
The thing I'd be worried about is feedback from the Seths (are the Ants potted? I can't remember)
and too loose of a bass response in my fairly dark LP.
Just thought of the Whole Lotta Humbucker as well.

For the non-Duncans I have to say I love the Bare Knuckle Mules - like the WLHs they have a great tonal balance for a Les Paul, just the right amount of everything. Very clear sounding, though they don't have the Seth honk. I would be interested to hear some unpotted Mules sometime.... but y'know, too many pickups, not enough Les Pauls!
Wondering what you guys would think that the perfect pickup is for that classic LP tone heard on so many records is.
I play things like ZZ Top, Zep, GnR, etc.
I've looked at things like the Seth Lover and Pearly Gates set from Seymour Duncan, and PAF 36th from Dimarzio, but I'm open to any and all suggestions, such as BKP and Gibson.
Thanks for the advice!
One set to do it all? Probably 59's
Slightly dark LP? PG's
Best combo? PG neck / 59 bridge
Why the 59b instead of the PGb? I've played a LP with a 59 set and didn't care for it too much, but that might have been more the guitar than the pickups.
I'd be interested in trying a 59 set with A2s in them.

I really like the 59. I only have any experience with the neck version, but it's the perfect neck pickup for me.
I'd say italian FlameTone pickups http://www.flametone.com/
Really, I had the lucky chance to hear them in a reissue Les Paul side by side with a REAL '59 LP (no, I unfortunately didn't play it, I was there anyway) and, when set at the right distance, they are absolutely comparable (except the fact a '59 sings by its own even unplugged).
I know Joe Bonamassa liked them too when he came in Italy, there are even some YT videos around
In what kind of guitar? Thye're famous for being boomy in LP's.
A 335 and a Epi SG. Sounds great. I don't have much experience with a Les Paul, but if you're looking at a vintage style pickup, then the 59 is always my go to.
