Re: The closet of shame (California edition) is underway!
so I got power, got the rack up, and it's....a work in progress. I haven't actually gone through the process of using all the different heads and such in this configuration, but I can tell it's not going to be the most practical thing in the world. I mainly wanted to get as many of my amps (especially the ones that utilize the boogie cab) in one location so I can go from one to the other as desired. The little marshall fits on top, but I could see that thing tipping over, and it made other shelves too crammed.
We'll see how it ends up, but for now it looks like this:
Many of the tube PA's have ins & outs on the back of the amp, so I need to turn them around to access those jacks. I've contemplated some type of head selector type thing, but that sounds too complicated for the effort. Do they make things like that? The Peavey store in Hollywood had a slick head/cab selector thing going on, I'd love to have one like theirs. Also, isn't it kind of bad to leave 1/4-inch jacks plugged in all the time, doesn't it mess up the jacks after awhile - or is that an old wive's tale?
Luckily, I usually get on a kick with one and play it for a few weeks or whatever, then get into another one, etc., so there's not a lot of switching going on.
The 1/4 marshall stack doesn't fit, hehe. I'd love to get an appropriate jtm30 cab for this setup:
