The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

Re: The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

We should stick to other people's guitars, otherwise it's gonna be just a regular forum gallery and we've done that before.

Re: The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

I thought this was about nominating other people's guitars?

Can I spam my favorite toy?

Yes, it seems to have evolved, but it is hard to remember who has what guitar, and there are so many great guitars owned by the forum members, and many do have a really cool factor in one way or another. So maybe it doesn't matter how we get to see these guitars as long as they have something that might be seen as that little extra special something, that extra coolness, to fit this thread ?

so spam us some coolness uOpt......

Re: The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

Right.

Its gotta be really unique to be "cool"

There's nothing unique about a stock strat with different colored plastic or a stock LP custom.

Even if YOU think its cool, its not all that special in the grand scheme of it.

Re: The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

And can't forget this one! I forget who posted the photo, but it's one of the least obtrusive repair jobs I've ever seen.

I wouldn't be surprised someone paid an idiot that claimed to have repair skills a big chunk of change (like over $200) to do this abortion too. Whoever did the repair should stick to other tasks like flipping burgers.

some of my favorites are XSSIVE's copper LP, drnewc's halford warrior, gearjoneser's blue/black strat with the engined pickguard, and whoever had that SG with P90s and a bigsby

and tattooedcarrot has probably sold more cool stuff than the vast majority of us will ever own :laugh2:

YIKES!!!!! That just gave me severe gas pains. Where can one buy this and what is the damage for such a beauty?

Re: The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

What's ironic is that I also sold that copper LPC to XSSIVE, :laugh2:

Wasn't the "Carrot" in your name attributed to that copper LP due to the orangish color of that one?

Also the white strat with blue pinstripes, didn't that have a set of white Invaders in it? That was one sweet guitar.

ive only ever seen one other one in existence, on some guy's page on ultimate-guitar.com. i know nothing about how limited the numbers were, but im guessing it was a very limited run. i bought mine through a dealer from hong kong, it was $1350 including an ESP case (nicest case ive ever seen, btw), and $1500 including shipping from hong kong.

Re: The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

the mystery continues...

i just googled it to find some more info for you (edwards FV-140M or E-FV-140M) and found some japanese sites selling it. looks like theyre all from 2007. but the mystery is that these japanese sites advertise it as having an alder body and 25.5" scale. whereas when i bought mine, the ebay page said mahogany body and 24.75". i know for a fact that mine is 24.75" scale, and im fairly certain its a mahogany body (way heavier than any alder ive picked up, though i cant be sure sound-wise because its my only guitar with EMGs and theyre quite different from everything else). unfortunately i cant tell by sight because all the cavities are painted. but its gotta be mahogany.
anyhow...does this mean mine is part of an even more-limited limited run? haha. i may never know, as i can't read japanese

Re: The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

Here's my contribution to this thread, a Don Grosh Bent Top in a custom color with a flamed maple neck and fingerboard. Don even signed the back of the headstock for me before shooting the finish.

Here's a little better shot of the flamed maple and you can see Don's signature:

Find a translator page. IT can at least give you the jist of what you're reading.

The body May pulling finger board which is taken in the thick [me] in comparison with birthplace Gibson is adopted thickly, the profound sound due to the combination with the powerful EMG pickup is highlight.
