The Dark Lord Gigs!

Everyone loved the look of the black burst with chrome hardware and pup covers (especially the single coil..wow). It's a very sharp looking visual. My drummer told me he thought it sounded great, even better than my 25th (which has been THE gigging solidbody since last August). He said it sounded big and smooth. That said I felt like I was monkeying around with the tone knob ALL night long. I half wondered if it's me getting used to the poplar/maple body combo? I also noticed on the specs that it has 250k pots and figure that might be part of me not finding a happy medium very easily.

I wonder if I'm getting some signal degradation from my board and since my amp I used is low gain and only has a tone knob for EQ that it is causing me to have "dialing in" issues. I haven't gigged the Dark Lord with my modded 2204 but I don't think I'd have that problem...maybe because I have a presence knob?

Hopefully the drummer will get me a clip or pic to throw up here...preferably one without the second guitarist we picked up. :chairshot

Anyhow....GREAT looks, great sound!

PICS!!!

On the amp issue those low gain tweeds are prone to the issues you are talking about with a long pedal chain but it is what it is...unless you want to add a buffer there is little you can do about it.

Well I got A picture...I'm not sure what the song was but I look like I'm REALLY concentrating!

Very cool!! Hats? Country or ZZtop or is the singer Brett Michaels? haha just kidding bro! Glad the axe is tripping your trigger... No pun intended What amp you running thru here? (since you arent using the 2204) Also, just have to ask, what mods does the 2204 have?

That was a weird deal. I almost commented on it when I put up the picture. My dad said it's a shame I wear a hat at all with "your head of hair".

The singer wears a hat almost all the time. I believe it's because it makes him feel like somebody from the 80s. The bassist just randomly wore a hat, and I had hat hair from wearing it earlier when I got installed as Master of the Lodge.

It's lean and mean. I'm still getting used to it, but everyone seems to think it sits great in the mix.

The 2204 has all the Jeff Seal mods. USEFUL Master Volume Post Phase Inverter if I remember correctly, Active EQ, significantly more gain. The top input is hot and the bottom is pretty close to stock gain levels, maybe a little hotter. The only issue is you HAVE to re-EQ if you really crank it due to the way the tone stack is put together it gets OVERLY fat!

Look for a thread in the amp room about the amp I'm using, I just realized I never shared its debut story.
That amp is my *secret weapon* the drummer would say. It was built by a guy in Fayetteville Arkansas named Joe Twist and is called a Twist Blues 25 Watt. It's essentially a wide panel Pro with trem that I got with a roadcase for my Les Paul special with buckers. I run it into a DST cab with a homemade 2x12 baffle....with one Private Jack! I slam the front with 1 of 4 dirt pedals if I need more gain Rat2, GT-OD, Analogman SD1, or Script Distortion+.
