The dedicated pedalboard experiment...

Does anyone else do this? I've put together different pedalboards specifically for individual guitars. There are some commonalities: each board has a tuner (Boss TU-3's), dirt, and some kind of modulation. The boards for single coil guitars have compressors, but I don't find them necessary for humbuckers. Here are three of the pairings:

So far I am quite liking the experiment. I have one more guitar to build a board for - another humbucker equipped one. We'll see how my money holds out. But I'm sure having fun!

I assemble different pedal boards for different amps rather than for different guitars. However my guitars are all either humbuckers or filter'trons....no single coils other than one has coil tapping which I never use.

Not only that, I have a different pedal board for each song ... thanks to the Kemper.

I actually use different amps with my different boards too. But I don't have that many amps. The biggest board is stereo, and gets used with a matched pair of silverface Champs. The mono boards usually go into a 65 Deluxe Reverb RI.

I've thought about two boards, one for straight ahead rock with just a couple of simple pedals and one all decked out for my more experimental forays... I like the ideas you've put together!

Yeah, I guess EQD is my favorite effects maker right now. I'm also a fan of Subdecay and Dr Scientist.

Not really - I've got a board and a 'non-board" set up. The non board is basically a comp/delay thing, for those days I don't want to mess with the board.

Not enitire; relevant, but one thing I liked about the old Duncan Rumble Box is that it was designed to use with Humbuckers, but to thicken up single coils on different settings. Great pedal for a HSS guitar.
I too use specific boards for different amps.

ummm - no. I would have 9+ boards.

But I might if I had a Metal Guitar and a Country guitar and that's all I used them for.

More likely a Metal board, a blues board, a pop board, etc...

I have pedals dedicated to my acoustic mostly, my Fender Pro Jr mostly, and everything else.

But again - considerable overlap. Might use the Micro amp with anything. Often use DD-3 with acoustic or Metal. etc

Loving the EQD stuff too! after spending a good hour with their stuff at the LA amp show, i was really impressed. Have me a Hoof, and Ghost Echo... looking to get that speaker cranker, crimson drive and one of their delays soon

I've started using home/practice board and a band/gigging board. The home board has some more fun stuff and variety that I play around with. The gigging board has only what I need for our songs. Much better than dragging a fully loaded Pedaltrain PT2 to practice every time.

I use one for going into a normal amp, and a different one if I am not using an amp, but using in ear monitors. The amp one doesn't have an amp/speaker/microphone simulator on it.

I do two boards a PedalTrain Pro that holds everything for experimenting at home and a RoadRunner portable pedal board for gigging, that is ever changing depending on the gig. The RoadRunner also sits in the basement with my bigger amps.

Securb, if all you are gigging with is a couple dirt boxes, a chorus a delay and a way/volume, how are you ever gonna get any respect on Harmony Central/TGP?

I mean, chops and skill and tone in the hands is nice and all, but really?
