The Difference Between The Alnico II Pro Neck And The Pearly Gates Neck Pickup

I was just farting around on my computer, and I happened to find this. I thought I would share it just for the hell of it. I know a lot of you would like to hear the differences between pickups, so I thought I would share. I totally forgot that I had done this years ago for someone here on the Forum.

Of course, it is with quite a bit of distortion, and in a Les Paul....cause that's what I used to play all of the time back then

I'd own a lot less 59N's if I had discovered the PGn first. I like both though, as well as the Seth Lover neck.

Not a big fan of dark woolly neck pickups and the APHn always seems like that to me. I like the tone, clarity, and cut of the PGn.

I'd own a lot less 59N's if I had discovered the PGn first. I like both though, as well as the Seth Lover neck.

I hear ya, but I can make them both work. I guess it really depends on if you are seriously going for a certain tone. I'm just so used to winging it with whatever, that I realy don't care. However, the Blackout neck pickup is sooooooo freakin awesome. It's like an amalgamation of every Duncan pickup combined with a non piercing brightness, fullness, and clarity that is just awesome!!

What you running blackouts in Jolly? I agree with you gearjoneser. I got turned on to the 59n (then I started using 59b models in the neck) and went wild plugging those into most of my guitars. Then I tried a PGn and wished Id have learned about that one earlier.. Since Ive rolled so many guitars, alot of my guits have Jazz necks now too. Im gonna check these clips out later Jolly... (at work now)

I like all three - but for different times and places.

Still, PG is my all around favorite.

I've never owned a '59 and my guitar's bright enough that the A2 Pro neck still has quite a bit of slice and cut.
