The dreaded feedback!!!!

I'm having a small feedback problem. I have a LP with PG/n and Custom/b. I'm using Fender hrdx with a boss tuner pedal and an mt2 distortion pedal. When the guitar is facing the amp or is at a certain angle there's a high pitched feedback coming from the amp. When the distortion pedal is off there's no feedback!!! It's my guess that the pedal is to blame. I like the pedal because I can get many levels of distortion, so I don't want to get rid of it. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be, amp, pickups, pedal, guitar or something else and what I could do to fix it.

Thanks

Re: The dreaded feedback!!!!

Volume + High-Gain + guitar facing amp = perfect recipe for uncontrollable feedback.

One of those 3 factors needs to be changed, now you just have to choose which ;)

You, my friend, are using way too much gain (easy to do with the MT-2).

Just face away from the amp. ;)

You may want to try Rocktron's The Hush pedal. Not just for feedback issues, but my guess is when you're not playing there's likely some hiss going on, and that pedal will eat it for breakfast and give you a doggie bag of quietness back.
