Re: The duncan custom is in my guitar and the verdict it

Thats good.. as i have written.. it depends on what you want from your neck pup..) I dont use neck pup for lead work for example. for me its siome different.. i use switch 2 so much for crunchy muddy rhytms.. and neck pup is a rhytm pickup for me..

hope u find your neck pup :)

I stopped using duncans last month and went emgs in all my guitars but i still regret that i have never tried the Duncan Custom......it seemed like the best solution for the sound i am looking for(even though i am not sure if the output is in the range i prefer). I didn't like the CC, C5, DD, JB but the Custom seems to have all the qualities those pickups didn't have for me. Now i must buy a new guitar and put the Custom in it.

Bro, i cant say that one is better than the other but i will attest to this for that certain sound(i hope some of you fellow metal heads know what i mean?) :laugh2:
the EMG's are very hard to beat! :32:
I still love the crap out of my emg's in the ZW Lester.
but the duncans are a real nice toney pup that are maybe more classic sounding?
they do metal very well but the main thing about the JB or CUSTOM is they go into other area's like i can pull of EVH tones with either the JB or custom ,
but on the 81 FORGET IT!

I prefer the tone of the Jazz to the 59, especially in the neck. The best neck pup is the root of the most insanity on the forum!

Luke me too but i had the 59 already laying around.
if you remeber correctly from when i spoke to you i originally bought a JB and a 59n at guitar center while i was waiting on the DD and jazz in the mail.
good thing i did BTW! :laugh2:
the DD was sent back for this custom because i wanted to give another model(custom) a shot(once again glad i did!) :laugh2:

Oh I remember man, I knew you were gonna dig the jazz. But I can understand the dist. being boxy sounding to you. When you said that I figured you'd like the custom. I'm just surprised you didn't take back the 59 for another jazz.
