The Duncan exchange policy????

Hi guys!

I am thinking of doing some more experimenting with my LP. I have the C-5 in place but want to try some more. I could do two things........buy off ebay and then sell and buy another. Or, I could buy from someone like BlackRose and continue to exchange till I settle on a p'up.

Any thoughts? Is it that easy to do the exchanging through a retail online store? Do I have to go directly through SD? this is fine also.

Thanks!

Re: The Duncan exchange policy????

My experience with John at Black Rose for the 21-day exchange was excellent. It helps if the alternative/2nd pup is one that he stocks.

If THAT'S what you're going to do, definately buy from someone like BlackRose! :smack: LOL! Lew

The SD exchange policy is only good for 21 days. (assuming you haven't had it that long but didn't see it in your post) I just did this with a 59 I got from Guitar Center here in Chicago. They were okay with me exchanging as long as the pick up looked good. I called Duncan as well, and they said if guitar center gave me a hard time I could exchange it directly with them too. Darn good service if you ask me. Basically its at the discretion of the store you bought it from (if its within 21 days), and if they hassle you Duncan will exchange it for you directly.

yeah, you might want to narrow down your choices as much as possible beforehand, in order to get what you want sooner

...Hope and pray everyone gets the message...

the policy was set up for people who bought a pup and found it wasnt the right one, its a great policy, just dont abuse it

Re: The Duncan exchange policy????

I would try trading with some of the good people right here. With a C5, that would be a breeze. Lew's right, continually exchanging with the 21 day policy sounds like a headache to me. I've traded a few pups myself, but only the ones I 've had doubles of. I've found merit in every Duncan I've played and have extras just waiting for that right guitar. Good luck.

Peace,

Darrin

Exactly hehe, that's what I meant. It was great because the 59 wasn't right for me, and now I got my setup right and am a happy customer!

Re: The Duncan exchange policy????

Yeah, c'mon, dont use the 21-day policy just for the fun of trying different pickups, that's unfair.

Re: The Duncan exchange policy????

I know guys...I wouldn't really do that! LOL! :laugh2:

Seriously, that's why I've been going through ebay....if I don't like it, I sell it and find another. :)

Hey papersoul,
I would even precursor eBay, & do the selling or trading here at home. It's a whole lot easier tradin' a pup with a bro than selling & buying. Whatta ya wanna try next, I'll see if I got it in the ole drawer. Your tone is important to us too bro. Use the force Luke, use the force. Lemme know if you wanna try something & I'll let you know if I's got's it. No kidding, I'll send you a pup off to try, just need your word on it. Let me know & we can talk it.

Peace,

Darrin
