excuse the playing...it's dece. it was more or less made up on the spot. the tone is good, almost perfect...IMO

the low E is a bit distorted. but it sounds good overall. to me at least

it's Duo Sonic -> Bandmaster BF -> marshall JCM900 cab -> mic (AKG) -> lexicon lambda - compooper.

thanks

1 is worst, 5 is best

Re: The duo with new strings (TONE!) (rate)

Could just be me, but its almost like its TOO clean. Just a tiny bit more push to the preamp, not even to the point of noticeable distortion, could thicken and warm the tone up a bit. Otherwise its good, the treble is defined but not harsh, it could probably use some low mids to thicken it up a bit IMO. A tone like that seems more suitable for strumming away on some chords, but your playing is pretty dynamic which is why I think it could be a little thicker on the low mids.

yeah, i see where you are coming from and i agree. i only had the volume on 3 or so. lol. my mic is a POS

Re: The duo with new strings (TONE!) (rate)

yeah it wont hurt to really get the amp to practical volumes. if your mic cant take the SPL just find another placement farther away

Re: The duo with new strings (TONE!) (rate)

I give the clean tone a 4. I agree that you should crank it a bit more. I'm pretty sure I can detect some Doobie Bros. in there somewhere. ;)

Re: The duo with new strings (TONE!) (rate)

when you give a rating, could you state why? otherwise it doesn't help me much

Re: The duo with new strings (TONE!) (rate)

The playing is great, but the sound just didn't have any "snap" to it. I agree that it needed some more push to the pre amp.

Re: The duo with new strings (TONE!) (rate)

yeah, i need to get an overdrive/booster or an eq or something. i need to drive the amp more. but when i turn up the volume, it just makes it distorted but it sounds thin. it's probably the cheap lipstick pickup that i put in there. lol
