The Evan-Rude AMP Takes Flight....PICS!!!

Re: The Evan-Rude AMP Takes Flight....PICS!!!

Aislinn 6V6 begins tonight... Once I get that one done, the 4xEL84 parts have all arrived. I'm stoked.

By the way, Jeff Swanson gets the credit for the woodworking. He's expensive, but this amp is beautiful. That black/brown edging is actually wenge wood. It looks like a tiger stripe brown on black. Or is that black on brown...? :)

Scott, one other question. You're making B Bent a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe clone. How much would it cost for a 5F1 (I think thats the model) Tweed Champ clone?

Scott......Your amps are nothing short of mesmorizing to look at! Artful and beautiful buddy!

Not sure on that. I have not done anything but 110v US stuff so far. I'd have to buy a Variac. I could try to look up the dimensions and weight of the one I just sent to Gr8Scott. It won't be cheap, then you guys have ValueAdded Tax stuff to deal with as well, right? Those are some of the reasons I've not messed with overseas stuff yet.

CAUTION

You will have to deal with Eurocodes and CE marking / certification from a Notified Body... Is that something you want to start doing?

I still have to get you that CD of Edana...

No, it's not to be honest. My best bet for Europe is to have a friend by an amp here and ship it to another friend in Europe as a used item I guess. Larry is right, if it's a hassle, I won't be dealing with it.:smack:

Re: The Evan-Rude AMP Takes Flight....PICS!!!

Evan and I started talking about this amp in November or so. He is extremely patient with me going through shoulder surgery and various things that have caught up with me. Then there was the wait time on the head, then there was the re-work of the head, then there were 3 attampts at getting a faceplate and backplate to fit right, then there was me having some inspiration to try EL34's for a short while instead of the 7581's.

Uh, yeah, this one took waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. Sorry Evan.
