I know other people have had this before, so I hope somebody can chime in.

Guitar when I'm touching the strings (or the bridge)...quiet.

Guitar when I'm not touching the tuners, strings or bridge...NOISY AS HELL.

BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.......

Who knows what the problem is and how I can fix it?

Thanx in advance. :burnout:

Re: the ever common buzzing problem...

Some times I have this problem but only when I switch to my metal zone, is it the pedal?

See what happens when you turn own your tone. Also check for ground connections that are dull looking instead of reflective.

So if you turn the tone knob and the buzz goes away, what does this mean? Thats the situation I'm in now.

Sorry for hijacking your thread :hijacked:

Re: the ever common buzzing problem...

Well I don't think I have a leaky cap. When I turn the tone down, the problem still exists. I re-soldered my grounds best I could, but I'm not a *real* electrician. Still having problems with it.

Re: the ever common buzzing problem...

Generally, if turning the volume or tone control effects the "sound", or quantity of the buzz, then it means that the p'ups are picking up external interference, (computer monitor, flourescent lights, etc.). The sound is being picked up by the p'ups, and routed through the normal signal path, thus you can control it with the vol/tone.

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about this type of noise, except isolate the interference. (Turning off the monitor or lights.)

Both my humbucker equiped guitars suffer this problem. Neither Strat does. Go figure. :smack:

i would guess a ground got knocked loose in the pedal, i wouldnt think it's shielding... maybe a bad potentiometer indise the pedal... it could be a number of things
