I have been playing around on the tools. Decided to make a skull for my new project ''The viking''

Tools used, bandsaw, wood rasp flat/semiround, Dremel with cutting disc and chisels. made from 150 year old hoop pine. :bandit:





Hoping for something like this.

Love your crazy stuff mate. I need to bring you back some carved bone from Indonesia next trip.

I reckon It needs some sort of tapped QP in the neck and some badass bridge HB.

What design are you thinking for the neck?

Something pointy like a gibson v style headstock. A possible qld maple fretboard although it might be a bit light in colour. I don't really know hey i just carved this without thinking. I am making myself a workshop before this so it's a premature thread.

LOVE IT ALREADY!! V headstock would be cool, but may I suggest you shape the headstock like the axe blade you have tween the V in your mockup??!! That would be EVIL!

Haha thanks my loves. Anything is possible from here on out.

I was also thinking it would be a perfect project to try a ''no cavity cover'' electronics cavity. Or whatever you would call it. I could make a part of the gold semi round trim removable for the 5way switch, then i could just hollow out part of the body . Of course it would have to be neck thru.




This might not happen but i thought i would throw it down here anywayz.

from your current plan i dont see enough runes, like those old nordic ones. also, maybe put mjölnir on the headstock or the cavity cover? ah! such a great project

dude, you need to figure out how to mass produce these things. I can totally see these in musican's friend taking off. maybe a kickstarter thing, I dunno. freakin' cool man.

This! these are the runes im talking about.

the guitar of olavi, from amon amarth has these on his gibson explorer, looks pretty badass

of course with these ancient things theres some differences and its not completely clear what they mean and such, but they would look great on his project
