Hey guys
firedbirds have always interested me, i would like one with a string through,tune o matic, two humbuckers and a three per side style headtsock.(the second link's picture is what interests me, just that body style not so much its hardware,pups etc.) hopefully one day warmoth can help me out.
My question is, there is reverse firebirds and non reverse which is which there are a few links below thanx a lot.

I have seen both labelled as both styles on a few different sites and wanted to clarify thanx again.

Yes #1 is a "reverse" but with a "Non-reverse" headstock. I love Firebirds and someday I will get the guts up to buy one. My tech just talked me out of one again. I guess a nice SG will be on the list next then.

I have played a real Gibson "Reverse" Firebird. They look awesome, but the tone wasn't quite what I wanted. Maybe some real minibuckers would make it sing, but the Gibson branded stuff sounded dull. It felt like a solid instrument, but it really is an awkward instrument to play. It was a disappointment, but the look on my face when I first saw it and picked it up was priceless :D

I'm the proud owner of a 76' Bi Centenial Firebird . I got it in 93' for $600
It's worth 3Xs that now. I got from a guy who was moving, He gave up
playing and had a bunch of gear in his basement he didn't want to take
it with him. He was selling a 63' tremolux ,1960RI gold top LP.JCM800
Full Stack,Mesa Boogie mark series? and the bird. I had only 600 bucks
on me. The guy said for 6 bills I could have any item in the room???
I THINK I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE :dance:

also, if i ever got a bird it would be the one jolly posted. epiphone makes a copy of that guitar and i really want to try it out. not gonna buy it yet, but would like to play it.

As far as a collectors piece, yeah I would have to agree. Music/playability standpoint? I think most people would be happier with a '60RI Gold Top LP. I bet that Tremolux must have been pretty sweet though (and worth money because it's from the 60s ;) )

Who knows though? Maybe Gibsons pups have just started to suck on them, your model probably has a great sound and for that price... it was a steal :)

Personally, I'd go for the Reverse Firebird. My favorite was the '63 dot neck and two pickups. The long low E string definately gives a differant sound than the shorter E string of the non reverse model. The Reverse Firebirds get more of a deep tone like a plucked piano...I prefer them. But they are very fragile. Just the case falling over can be enough to break the neck. Lew
