The future of guitar bridge pickups?

Something the great Rather Dashing thought of ( although I had been thinking the same thing..r alng the same lines) stomp box that emulated guitars pickups themselves.
Well, I extrapolated this into a stompbox with the actual pickup inside it , and a passive electronic receptor inside the bridge position of the guitar.
Imagine whole "pickup pedalboards" ! Someone is gonna owe me a Metric crap ton of money if this ever happens, cause I'm saving this post as proof i had the idea first.

The bridge pickup could utilise much of the body space to house a massive winding of wire to produce a pickup with such high output that no amp is needed ... the guitar's output jack would connect directly to a speaker and deliver many watts of power.

I have a way better million dollar idea. I'm Just too lazy to consider even wondering how to start the process of marketing/creating it.

While it sounds cool, I'm not quite sure this would be so popular. Pick-ups are an important part of the tonal equation but it is much more important to US here than to the "general" guitar-playing population... Plus, board realestate would still be considered a premium. IMHO, folks would still be happier finding a good sounding pick-up and then buy a shotload of effects which have a more drastic effect on their tone than having 4-5 boxes for pick-ups plus their effects...

I'm not saying pick-ups don't have an effect on tone but I still believe that switching between an OD, a Fuzz, and adding delay or trem or whatever is still considered a bigger alteration to your tone and a bigger plus value to a song or passage than switching between bridge pick-ups to obtain a "slightly woodier tone with less mids but again, less compression than you'd get with an A2-based pick-up...etc...". I'm not saying it's nonsense but it is some hairsplitting that pretty much only us here at SDUGF are really good at.

Again, all IMHO.

I'll also add that B2D will be quite disappointed 'cause switching magnets will either be easier or much more difficult. Both these scenarios will make the magnet-swapping craze become more intense.
(I'm not making fun of you B2D, I completely agree).
