The Ghetto Peddo' board thread

Do you have a budget pedalboard? Be proud!

I made mine for $1.67 which was for the nylon ties. The board is from a platform from a cat tree that wasn't being used (It even matches the carpet). The Bad Monkey is strictly to fatten up the single coils. The Dano is a Chicken Salad (Vibe) and the wah is a Budda.

Show yours (unless I'm the only one going out on a limb here)

If my camera had batteries, I'd take a picture of the floor for you :)

Haha, I was just about to do that.. just take a picture of the guitar cable.. pretty much sums up my board.. though I have a sexy univibe clone on the way.

Re: The Ghetto Peddo' board thread

LOL Mine was the floor also until I got bored last week and made this in about 5 minutes.

Re: The Ghetto Peddo' board thread

I keep meaning to chop up some OSB at work, but I swap them around so much, and rarely plug them all in, it seems like it'd be more trouble than it's worth.

Re: The Ghetto Peddo' board thread

You would not see a pedal board anywhere near my amp unless I have been possessed or something.

Thats a cool macgyverize job Steve.

Re: The Ghetto Peddo' board thread

You seriously don't like fuzz, wah, delay.... none of that?

A bit of Delay is good but, I have yet to play a stompbox where I liked what it offered. At times I might like a bit of chours but, the same thing applys. For some reason, I LOVE the effects in the Pod 2.0. If I could get a simple box with those effects and those effects only and the way they are controlled in the 2.0 for a resonable price I would most likely use it. Ya dig?

I dont need one of their mega high dollar foot pedals for a simple effect I would want.

Until I find something simple and versatile that I think is worthy, I will be content to run barefoot.

Re: The Ghetto Peddo' board thread

Mine is a piece of wood I found in my basement.. bought the velcro at lowes.
There's an old pic in my signature. I'll post a new pic when a couple more EH pedals show up.

Re: The Ghetto Peddo' board thread

I've made a bunch of boards for myself and others, and am pretty good at wiring up custom rigs.

Sometimes I only take a pedal or two, if a full board is overkill, but my main board has every sound I could ever want, and is totally dialed in, complete with a Switch Box that brings in the Line 6's or tuner. The rest is all true bypass.

Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, T.Rex Mudhoney, Fulldrive II Custom Shop, Klon Centaur, 78 ADA Flange, Choralflange set for Leslie sound....pink switch box brings in 2 L6 pedals or shunts signal straight to tuner.

Re: The Ghetto Peddo' board thread

Mines not a home made board due to not having the skills to make a board big enough to fit on everything that I wanted, but I'll post mine anyway

PedalboardUpdate.jpg

The pedalchain is:

Spina modded Vox 847 wah (not pictured)
HBE Uno Mos boost (for boosting the level up when using a single coil equipped guitar)
Roger Mayer Voodoo Axe Fuzz (has a great buffer in it)
BOSS TU2 Pedal Tuner
HBE CPR Compressor
HBE Power Screamer (with switchable Fat Boost mod)
G2D Custom Ovedrive
HBE UFO Fuzz/Octavia
WOBO 3 way loop box
HBE Dos Mos boost/buffer

Loop 1 of the WOBO is the BOSS Tremolo + Chorus
Loop 2 is the MXR Phase 90
Loop 3 is the Ibanez DE7 Delay/Echo

I'm also adding a HBE Medicine Bawl wah to my rig, and am also in the process of tweaking a HBE Big D to possibly replace the G2D.

So Joe, if you turn all of your pedals to "off" is your tone exactly the same as when you just unplug your guitar from the pedals and plug directly into your amp???

Oh: my pedal board is the floor too. (laugh!) I only use pedals one or two at a time...if I use them at all.

I only built up that board because I was doing modern rock like U2/Coldplay, and needed a lot of textures. Then, I was using it for cartoon scores, which needed odd sounds, rather than regular guitar tones.

Normally, I just plug into the Bogner for a Twin/Plexi rhythm tone with the hottest channel as a Robben Ford type lead sound. But when I do use the pedalboard, it really is transparent through all the true bypass pedals. I can set the Line 6's for cool sounds and bring them in with one button on the pink box. L6's suck a little bit of tone, so I keep them on a separate loop.

Re: The Ghetto Peddo' board thread

My rack AND pedalboard are rollin in ghetto goodness :D I actually haven't finished them yet though so they're totally bare...
