Re: The Great February 2010 Riff-Off Unveiling!
It's OK, I think I had the worst score in the whole tournament with my second round submission.
I used my Les Paul in both tracks, but this time I focused much more on the effects and creating something interesting with the riff. As I mentioned before, in January I specifically tried to win the Riff-Off. For February I tried to push the envelope of what is considered a "riff". (Obviously, some didn't like it
)
The first submission was a Fender amp model with delay into tremolo. I specifically chose a major feel to offset the mostly minor riffs that are usually submitted.
The second submission used a volume pedal to swell into an analog delay and hall reverb patch. I fully admit is was sloppy, but I really liked this concept. I winder how it would fared with the same notes, only no swell and palm muted pedal notes in between. Unfortunately I bet it would have scored better. :scratchch
Nice job everyone, once I get some time I'd like to go through all the riffs again.
actually, 15/16 is one of the very few alternative time signatures i can play in, if only because of "the ocean" by zep
dude, i got something like, 14th place? dang i sucked this month:lmao:
