but to me it isnt a riff ... in fact, its kinda 2 riffs ... the bit that comes in around 28 to 30 seconds in just is a whole other thing

And yet we've all agreed that if Keith allows it, it constitutes a riff, and should be voted on as a riff regardless of our personal definitions. Granted, it goes from "intro riff" to "main verse riff" in the same track, that does not automatically negate its status as a riff, unless you're taking the "a" in "a riff" to mean "one riff". If that's the case, refer to rule #1: If PUH allows it, it's "a" riff.

True, although I do encourage voters to rank submissions based on how riff-like they personally feel it is.

i really liked the tone i got too, but listening back it just wasn't that creative.
