The guitar that stomped them all (seriously)

this is going to kill me, last month i was very angry because i tried a dual rectifier and liked it much more than my triple xxx, thats fine...

but a couple weeks ago i was wondering of the use that i was doing to my k7 because of the seventh string, which i don´t use at all right now, so i was hesitating about to sell it and buy one 6 string "over the top" guitar, and saw this one...

so i am going to sell like 4000 € worth of the amp+k7 and buy 4800 € for the new ones...i only hope this won´t repeat in at least 20 years

well what do you think of the guitar dudes? about the pups... all is done, i´ve ordered one Custom trembucker and one 59 neck model

That is nice.

Good luck on your gear! Post a pic of your new rig when you get it completed!

Re: The guitar that stomped them all (seriously)

well i will first pick up the guitar, so when i get it i will post a lot of pics of it with the explorer...about the rectifier, i don´t think i can get it till march or april... this is very slow to get 5000 € even if i sell the triple xxx, because it cost new 2000 so i could get near the 1500, and 1000 of the k7 plus 100 of the duncans... thats 2500, i can buy the guitar, case and pups and save 300 € for the amp xD...so thats will be like 5 o 6 months to get the money (cause i won´t stay at home till i have the 3000, thats for sure... i love weekends ;)) btw thanks man, it´ll be a ripping gear

That RG is my fav Ibanez model by far. I've played it several times. Soooo smooth, and the sustain is endless with the nech-thru. I'm still looking at buying one. Will prolly have to wait until I'm out of University though, when the funds are a little more expendable.

Re: The guitar that stomped them all (seriously)

I have lusted over that same Ibanez. I have not had the honor to lay my hands on one yet. I would have to say that Ibanez really outdid themselves on that one.

Re: The guitar that stomped them all (seriously)

That axe looks pretty sweet.. a definite rocker!

Re: The guitar that stomped them all (seriously)

I really like that finish, but I just cant stand Ibeenhads. :D Most of them necks are toooooooo thin, and the body has no radius on the edges or the horns, so it just feels weird.

Re: The guitar that stomped them all (seriously)

that looks like a nice ibenhad. I'd suggest you try it to see if the neck-thru sounds a bit bright (as maple neck-thrus often do), but apart from that, go for it.

Re: The guitar that stomped them all (seriously)

carvin can build you the same guitar from probably the same price or cheaper

yeah, i already have seen the whole brand series on the net but the thing is that i can try that ibanez a thousand times, and after that realize that it is the one i want, but i can´t be sure of a custom carvin until it´s done, so if i don´t like it i would have to pay anyway, so i prefer to try a lot of stuff a lot of times, just to be sure...

i have tried this rgt2020 a whole week, also a couple USA Jacksons (a soloist and a dinky), a couple ESPs and a Les Paul Supreme...the best sounding one was the soloist (btw it has duncans on it...the rest have emgs, gibsons, and dimarzio/ibz which i don´t like at all) but the most versatile and playable was the ibanez by far, so, when i put the duncans on it, the sound will be as good if not better than the soloist...i have a winner ;)

well i won´t know it till i get the duncans, but it´s nothing to worry about imo, i think mahogany should made the rest about that, shouldn´t it?

How does it sound ACOUSTICALLY? If it isn't good unplugged, I don't even bother plugging it in. It's not ALL the pickups you know.

Re: The guitar that stomped them all (seriously)

I'm not into Floyd Rose trems... I think they're big, bulky and a pain to work with. If it has a Wilkinson, I'd be drooling at that guitar along with you (I love the natural finish, and even with my big hands, thin Ibanez necks are a breeze to play on ;) ).

Definitely try it unplugged... that will determine the quality of the woods and construction.

That Ibby looks sharp, but like so many guitars, I don't care for the control layout.

So, how about like this:

well that´s one thing i have to do next time :laugh2:....i haven´t tried a guitar without plugin it ever, so i can´t reply you...but i think i can know that this is the best for me, after hours of playing it. before i said i have tried it a whole week...so it could be like 20 practice hours...i can be sure of the quality of the guitar by touching it during that time

well, i don´t know why do they put the control layout there (they put them that way on all of their guitars, though), but the thing is that it´s always on a place where i don´t touch volume nor tone pots while i´m playing, both my first ibanez (js100) a bunch of RG/JEMs that i´ve tried (this one included), so it´s the perfect position imo, near my hands but without being an obstacle to my playing
