Hoo Hooooooo everyone, The Owl swoops in for enlightenment.

Anyone here currently using the, I now assume discontinued SD Allan Holdsworth pickup? Impressions, comments?

I guess where I'm trying to arrive tone-wise is something with a pronounced "midrange honk" almost like Duane meets Holdsy.

If you are not interested in the Holdsworth pup advertised, would you let me know as I would like to buy this one?

Not in the cards for me right yet ($$$ a little tight) so go for it. I'll still keep me eyes out.

Wondering if there are any SD pickups currently in production that get close to this territory though.

A JB with A2 pickup ands 12 slotted adjustable screws IS the Holdsworth Model. Pretty easy to make from a JB.

Re: The Holdsworth Pickup and "Midrange Honk"

I don't know how it compares to the old SD model, but Carvin makes a Holdsworth set that they put into their Holdsworth Signature model axe. They might be worth a look.
