The neck looks great. I love Maple, but since gigging, I've noticed it can get quite slippery at times. My next Tele neck will be ebony. Did you consider a blue burst? Ghost flames could look hot too. :saeek:

Re: the humble beginnings of my next custom project

Hi... ummm i have inspired someone ;) well curly the pic in your avatar results a little familiar for me... (maybe beacause one of my guitars is a stardard telecaster, with maple neck in aquamarine metallic blue...).
Only a few thing about the color of my new guitar, well i had some problems with it, because the tint hadn't the proper quality and don't stain all the wood, and another problem, when i finish the body using the sealed product, the solvent that it has to thin the product take a bit of the tint that wasn't completly dry, and gave this look of a very used guitar, "relic"... :/
Well, the body that you have is very beautiful, good look with it

(note: my english is badder that my technique to paint & finish guitars, sorry :P )

Re: the humble beginnings of my next custom project

thanks, guys!

Brian, originally, I was thinking about doing a honeyburst, then as I said, I saw that serdito's blue came out very nice, and decided to do it in a trans blue ... I'm still just a little undecided about doing a burst on my first one

and yes, the wood looks great ... I'm looking forward to my first finishing job :D

Re: the humble beginnings of my next custom project

you could always do it in the lighter color first and see how she looks as an transparent amber color. I think that would look very nice. Good luck Curly
