the Hy-Bro neck is in!

Re: the Hy-Bro neck is in!

Bumping this thread just for the sake of it (and try to keep it afloat of the Korean SPAM attack)! ;)

Those SOBs are relentless! :poed: :cussing:

Re: the Hy-Bro neck is in!

Truman nuked the wrong guys, apparently.
I don't think Korea had a horse in that particular race. That came later.

But either way, and this isn't directed towards anybody in particular, play nice about the pickup, guys.

Have you noticed this thread has generated well over 10,000 views and counting?

Talking about an overwhelming "silent majority", uh! :wow:

Re: the Hy-Bro neck is in!

What's our next move, Pepe?
Well, Scott said a v.2.0 version will be made followed by an "official" video... but no clue as when is this going to happen, so I don't know.

If I ever get the opportunity to come home from work, I'll try to post some sonic examples of the "modded" version made by yours truly.

For now, all I can do is watch Korean SPAM! SWELL!!!

Re: the Hy-Bro neck is in!

I have not heard or seen a video yet. So how many people are interested so far? I'd love to get an idea- and I am sure a video and sound clips will help this along. We would need enough orders to put this into some sort of limited production and get the price down.

I'm interested.....but I'm gonna need to hear it before buying anything.

+1

I want to rewire my LP with a Hybrid / Hybro and JP wiring. Before I order I'd like to hear the Hybro and know what (if any) color options are available.

Re: the Hy-Bro neck is in!

I've lost interest by it taking a year to get as far as where the project stands now, a design process that'd take one step forward/two steps back, too many people trying to put their input in the design which convoluted the process further. Most people who were on board in the beginning have completely abandoned ship.

Re: the Hy-Bro neck is in!

Pepe,

Question.. If you answered this somewhere, I apologize.. I reread in hopes of not missing it. But here goes.. You stated this:

Summary:
Superstrat, 25,5" scale, 24 frets: MJ prototype.
Gibson, 24,75" scale, 22 frets: Seth-modded prototype.

Now, how does the seth proto do with the 25.5? I have my hybrid in a Charvel and am looking to put this neck pup in that. Thanks

It could work OK on a 24-fretter in a hi-gain environment.

*I* wouldn't use it with a 22-fretter due to the way too fat and dominant screw bobbin present on the prototype.

The '59/Custom Hybrid has an incredible "universal" appeal. It gracefully takes almost any mag swap.

As presented to me, the Hy-Bro neck prototype, using an A5, is a one-trick pony, that fails at meet the asked requirement, which was to tonally- and output match the '59/Custom Hybrid.

HTH,

HTH,

Pepe,
I think BloodRose was asking about your tweaked Hybro with the Seth screw coil... Provided that the project hasn't been derailed, I'm still very interested. I really like the idea of the '59/Custom with JP wiring and it'd be cool to have an equally versatile neck pickup. If the Hybro doesn't work out, I suppose I'll end up with a Jazz or WLH.

Dammit! I'm 57 and I still didn't learn to read properly! :ban:

Thank you for pointing it out, dystrust! :thanks:

To Bloodrose: sorry for the pea-brain fart!

As *I* see it; the Seth screw coil-modded Hy-Bro, either 24,75" scale or 25,5" scale will work just as well.

Hope This Helps, Bloodrose!

Yours very truly,
