I installed a vintage DiMarzio Super 2 in the neck position.

if i decide to put cream rings on it..its what's missing, but tone wise, it's there!!

Re: the jaguar facelift is done for now..

The old-style Super 2 lends something of a Jazzmaster look. Unless they are the exact same shade, adding creme surrounds might spoil the effect.

Need to ask, what does the strip of black tape on the pickguard do? ;)

That Super 2 is cool a **** BUT...is your B string that loud?

Might keep him from digging a hole in the guard with his pick, maybe?

You're gonna be in an Offspring video?

Groovy.

Love that Super 2.

I have a spare. I'm considering putting it for sale right here on the forum.

The pickguard actually works as a temporary tape disposal system. I didn't have a trash bin nearby. :D

it does wonders for the sound. try digging your b string polepiece about 1 full turn into the pickup.

Re: the jaguar facelift is done for now..

Cool.

IMO:

- no cream rings
- no sticker
- black barrel knobs
- black control plates

Re: the jaguar facelift is done for now..

That's very cool! I'll bet it will rock all night long! Very good job and IMO, great p'up selection.

Re: the jaguar facelift is done for now..

rad, I didn't know DMZ made covers like that other than nickel, gold and black.

Calm your tits.

Against the run of form, AZ bought something, did all of his own guitar tech work and only posted the story AFTERWARDS. What more do yez wants?

Black control plates would go against what the whole Jaguar "vibe" is, but I get your point. Sometimes I wish I didn't have so much chrome on the thing but then again when it's all clean it looks great.

I still don't get it. Is your B that loud?

versus the high e string, it kind of is. I play a lot of double stop type riffs and if it's between the B string and e string that high note gets lost.

Thanks! The Super 2 is... loud! I'm starting to think there's something wrong with my Super D! I have a second Super 2... I think I'll put it in and compare.

If I'm not mistaken, they don't currently. They used to, in the late 70s and 80s.

Right on about the covers. I like that look. It would be really cool if they still made them. Odd about the B...

I suggest you try lowering your B polepiece if you have a humbucker guitar. Just give it a try.

about the covers: I'm wondering if I can somehow take the cover off the second one and put it on my super d.

It's not that I dislike the chrome panels on Jaguars; it's that with the black on black, they appear to be randomly floating about in outer space.

As for "the whole Jaguar vibe" statement...you do realize that you're saying that about a guitar with two honkin' cream 'buckers and a Tune-o-Matic, right? Is the thing even short scale? It has no real Jaguar vibe, and never has...which I guess is probably why the black panels and knobs came to mind.
